Kinglake to Big River

Mt terrible
Leaving on the 5 of April loaded up for Big River the expectations were of a great ride in store and we weren’t left disappointed! There was only the two of us on the ride me on the 04 crf250x and my brother David on the brand spanking 07 wrf450.

We started out from Kinglake and our first plan of action was to get to Murrindindi as we already knew the area quite well we were able to take an interesting route full of hill climbs and untidy descents. Once at Murrindindi not to far into the ride the directions got a little skewed from my intended route. But this only made for a better ride, longer but better. We ended up heading for Narbethong were we feulled up and re-assessed our plan of attack. As we were not entirely sure on the mileage we would get out of the bikes we decided to take the most trail oriented way to get to Buxton were we would fuel up and leave the last bit of civilisation for a good while. 07 Nolan Rally

Articles Comments Off

nolan1.JPG

The annual Nolan rally will once again be on this year with kick off on the 27 of may. The Nolan rally has made some major changes in its circuit location, moving it to the Rubicon Valley which is 20km closer to Melbourne. The new circuit will comprise exciting and challenging tracks to accommodate the experienced rider right down to the novice.

The event is run by the Alexandra district motor cycle club and they always run a great show, they run the event with close links to the DSE, Vic forests and Parks Victoria insuring that the Nolan is a safe and sustainable event.

All bikes must be registered and all riders must be licensed, bikes will also be required to meet noise tests so don’t bring your bike minus a baffle because you might be told to load it back up and head home. Participant numbers reached 500 last year and more are expected after a great event last year.

exotecSpt_720.jpg

I came across the ZAC SPEED exotec in my general web surfing and was immediately intrigued. From first glance it just looks like your run of the mill body armour designed to deflect those painful rocks that almost always seem to hit you right in the sternum knocking the wind out of your sales!. But closer inspection saw a quality of design second to none, the exotec is anatomically designed allowing free full body movement which is a necessity.
